Devco
managed the design and construction of this facility
that is operated by California Sulphur Company (Calsulco),
a Devco affiliate. Calsulco operates its own fleet
of trucks picking up molten sulfur from Los Angeles
basin refineries. The facility has an open stockpile
capacity of 70,000 tonnes. Pelletized sulfur is sold
on the export market and loaded aboard ships at Long
Beach, California. This facility complies with strict
California environmental codes. This plant has operated
continuously since 1986 without a failure to lift
sulfur from any of its suppliers.
